Lee Kyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won's grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather's expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of "The Stupid", she was forced to go to the band's concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him." (from d-addicts)
Review: This was a cute drama :) Although, I wouldn't say its the best, it was a pretty nice drama. This was sort of giving Shin Woo (character from You're Beautiful who was portrayed by Yonghwa) a chance with Go Mi Nam xD (another character from You're Beautiful who was portrayed by Park Shin Hye). The plot slowly starts to pick up and the plot was kind of simple in a way. Though, the ending was kind of disappointing. It was sort of awkward and kind of cheesy (then again most asian dramas are cheesy). But Heartstrings is still enjoyable to watch, from its heartfelt moments to the funny scenes happening between the characters. The OST is also wonderful to listen to~ ^^
Should you watch it?: If you enjoy dramas that revolve over college life, romance and music then of course! This drama is very adorable and although there may be a few boring parts, the interactions between the two main leads totally make up for it!
